If you like a little extra sweetness, you can make them with honey nut Cheerios. This is one of those recipes that you can really personalize for your own tastes. Cheerios (I used plain, but I’ve seen them done with Honey Nut as well).Peanut butter (I used smooth Kraft peanut butter).

Or you can store them in the fridge – even the most gooey cereal bites will harden up in the fridge. Tips: Dropping them into cupcake liners is a great way to make them easy to pick up. The fourth time I made them, I added an extra 30 seconds of microwaving time and they turned out beautifully! The second time I heated the mixture in the microwave for 1 minute and while they were firm enough to pick up with my hands, they were still a little gooey. Great method, but it uses more dishes, so I was looking for something simpler. The first time I boiled the peanut butter and honey mixture on the stove over low heat for about 2 minutes – and they hardened perfectly. I’ve been reading a lot of recipes for these peanut butter cereal bites online, and a lot of people seem to have issues with getting them to set and be firm. I tested different methods for making them and I finally got mine to work out perfectly! So I can now say that (at least for me), the recipe at the end of this post works, and they set perfectly well for me. Or they’re a fun breakfast if you’re on the run! Peanut butter has lots of protien, so they really do make a great afternoon snack to curb your appetite. Yum! I just can’t help myself! I pushed off my lunch until almost 2pm because I was so full. I’ve eaten 4 (or is it 5 now?) of them since I made them this morning. (I just licked my fingers so I could type this.) These peanut butter cereal bites are sooooo good!
